Glastonbury Festival 2014: Build-up


3rd October - 15,000 coach and ticket packages on sale at 6pm.

6th October - 120,000 standard weekend tickets go on sale at 9am. Tickets sell out in a record time of 1 hour 27 minutes.

19th November - Lily Allen announces she is to play Glastonbury 2014 on Nick Grimshaw's Radio 1 Breakfast Show.

19th December - Arcade Fire are revealed as the festival's Friday night headliner.


20th January - Glastonbury's 2014 Emerging Talent Competition launches. The winner will be given a slot on one of the main stages at the festival.

27th February - Festival co-organiser Emily Eavis confirms on BBC 6 Music that Dolly Parton will play on Sunday 29th June. Parton tweets she is "incredibly excited" about the booking.

4th April - Initial line-up poster published.

5th April - M+A win Glastonbury's Emerging Talent Competition. The duo win the opportunity to play one of the main stages at this year's festival and a £5,000 cheque from the PRS for Music Foundation.

27th April - Refunded and cancelled tickets go on sale and sell out in 12 minutes.

8th May - Full line-up released.

16th May - Festival announces that Arcadia will have its own field his year located near the Park Stage.

22nd May - Running orders announced for 64 festival stages.

4th June - Stage times announced.

6th June - The BBC announces details of their festival coverage. Over 250 hours of Radio, TV, Red Button and online streaming will be broadcast, with coverage from six music stages: the Pyramid Stage, Other Stage, West Holts Stage, John Peel Stage, Park Stage and the BBC Introducing Stage.

11th June - EE launches the official Glastonbury 2014 app, available on iOS and Android.

15th June - Official programme goes on sale at iTunes for £3.99. A free PDF version of the programme launches on 26th June.

Tuesday 24th June - Car parks open at 9pm.

Wednesday 25th June - Gates open at 8am.
